A native Cincinnatian, as the Director of Community Affairs for Cincinnati City Councilmember P.G. Sittenfeld, Jasmine has helped pass legislation on bail reform, renter's choice and the charter amendment that paved the way for the Issue 7 transportation levy. She is a member of the Citywide Affordable Housing Strategy Workgroup, and the Cincinnati Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee, and recently, Jasmine was featured on USA Today in regards to the City of Cincinnati's Natural Hair Ordinance.
Jasmine’s passion for service informs her commitment to community involvement. She is proud to be a founding member of Black Lives Matter Cincinnati and a current member of the NAACP. Jasmine was part of the inaugural class of School Board School and currently serves as a facilitator. She is also a Patient Advocate with Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio and a member of the 2020 Class of YWCA Rising Stars. Passionate about black women’s self-care and upliftment, Jasmine is a co-founder of the Black Girl Magic Happy Hour that brings together black women across the city each month. Jasmine is the doting mother of a son and daughter who are her motivation to continue creating the world she wants to see.
Tai A. Collins, Ph.D., BCBA-D is an Associate Professor in the School Psychology Program in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Collins earned his doctorate in school psychology from Louisiana State University in 2013. His research focuses on time- and resource-efficient behavioral interventions for Black students in urban schools. Specifically, Dr. Collins has focused on interventions utilizing peers as culturally relevant change agents in school-based interventions. Dr. Collins has co-authored 30 peer-reviewed publications to date. He is the co-editor of two books, including the upcoming book entitled "Peer-Mediated Interventions: Utilizing Peers as Change Agents in School-Based Interventions." He is also the 2018 recipient of the Dr. Terry Kershaw Social Justice and Legacy Award. With regard to professional service, Dr. Collins serves at an Associate Editor of the Journal of School Psychology, executive committee member of the Black Faculty Association at the University of Cincinnati, is secretary of the chapter's non-profit, the Delta Theta Sigma Chapter Foundation, for Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and is Senior Warden of Wesley Smith Lodge #107, Prince Hall Free, and Accepted Masons. Dr. Collins demonstrates a commitment to social justice and improving outcomes for the Black community.
A New Jersey native and Cincinnati enthusiast, Amber David lives life through what she has dubbed her "three r's" - research, resources, and recruitment. She is the Economic Development Analyst at The Kroger Co. where she manages the New Markets Tax Credit and Opportunity Zone portfolios. Amber previously worked in the Cincinnati office of Local Initiatives Support Corporation where she connected small business owners (the majority women and people of color) to mentors and sources of capital. She was involved in real estate transactions totaling $7 million and resulting in the development of over 100,000 square feet of commercial and community space.
Amber is newly appointed to the Advisory Council of Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub, serves on the Hamilton County Tax Incentive Review Committee, is a member of the Junior League of Cincinnati, an alumnus of the Urban League’s Urban Leadership Institute (Class 26) and a previous executive committee member of Fuel Cincinnati which is the grant-making arm of Give Back Cincinnati. Amber holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Community Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati where she focused on economic empowerment and real estate development.
Dr. Gaskins is the Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement in the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science, the only African-American female currently teaching in the faculty of the College of Engineering. Whitney earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, her Masters of Business Administration in Quantitative Analysis and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering/Engineering Education. In her role as Assistant Dean, Dr. Gaskins has revamped the summer bridge program to increase student support and retention as well as developed and strengthened partnerships in with local area school districts to aid in the high school to college pathway.
In 2009, she founded The Gaskins Foundation, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to educate and empower the African American community. Her foundation recently launched the Cincinnati STEMulates year round K-12 program, which is a free of charge program that will introduce more students to Math and Science. She was named the 2017 K12 Champion by the National Association of Multicultural Engineering Program Advocates (NAMEPA).
Lauren Jones is a dynamic engagement professional with success in campaign management, capacity and relationship building. She is currently the Inclusive Giving Advisor at Greater Cincinnati Foundation. The Greater Cincinnati Foundation inspires current and future generations to invest in a more vibrant and prosperous Greater Cincinnati where everyone can thrive. GCF believes in the power of philanthropy to change the lives of people and communities.
Prior to her position at GCF, Lauren held leadership positions. Most recently with the Women’s Fund of GCF, Public Allies Cincinnati, YWCA, United Way, and Organizing for America – the campaign to re-elect President Barack Obama. In addition to her day job, Lauren is a fierce advocate for women's reproductive rights serving as a member on the board of directors for Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region. She is a Kennedy Heights resident who has been living in Cincinnati for eight years.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ed has been passionate about service from a young age, where his mother led the outreach program for their church. They frequently served at the local soup kitchen & several local nursing homes. He attended North College Hill High School and Rock Valley College where he played Offensive and Defensive line for the football team.
Ed spent five years as a Customer service leader for US Bank and Hazmat delivery driver for Cincinnati Pool Management before entering the Commercial real estate industry, where he joined Republic Commercial Real Estate in 2016, specializing in Office and Unique retail transactions. Ed is dedicated to life-long learning, and went back to school and earned his Property Management diploma from Ashworth College. Just recently, he was nominated for the Cincinnati business courier's 2019 40 Under 40 list.
His volunteer activities include work with the Urban league YP of Southwestern Ohio, Rotary Club of Cincinnati, Envision Children, Commercial real estate seminars to teach more African Americans the importance of Commercial Real Estate and many other opportunities in his community.
Ed lives in White Oak with his wife of 5 years,Tywanna, and their two children, Ej,Eden and their two nieces Mckenzie and Aubrey.

Prior to coming to the Queen City, Alexis worked at KATV (ABC) in Little Rock, Arkansas and KOMU (NBC) and NEWSY in Columbia, Mo.
Alexis recently won an EMMY on her in depth report shedding light on 17 year old Kaylie Jackson’s donation journey. Her work was recently named the best in Ohio by Ohio Society of Professional Journalist and the Cleveland Press Club Excellence Awards.
A proud Chicagoland native and Mizzou Tiger, Alexis graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism a B.A. in Radio-Television Journalism.
Alexis is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) where she served nationally as a student and currently serves as President of the Greater Cincinnati Association of Black Journalists (GCABJ). Coming from a household of three girls, Alexis loves giving back. She is the founder of Lisa’s Girls, a mentoring program for young women. Alexis is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Maurice Stewart is a lifelong Cincinnatian and works at Interact for Health, a health foundation with a mission to improve health by promoting health equity in the greater Cincinnati
region through community engagement, grants, research, education and policy. Outside the office, Maurice is founder and president of the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative Young Professionals Board, a group of early and mid-career individuals making a meaningful contribution to creating brighter futures for local students, while offering networking and learning opportunities, building leadership skills and broadening professional networks. He also serves on boards for the Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy
and the University of Cincinnati College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Activity Board. In his free time, Maurice loves to go to the gym and play pickup basketball. Maurice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati
and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with graduate certificates in Human Resource Management and Nonprofit Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
Antroine Townes is the Plant Manager of GE Aviation’s Additive Technology Center where he is responsible for all shop operations, hardware development, project management, and a key member of the Additive Integrated Product Team. He goals include successful manufacturing process development and on-time delivery of commercial & military additive components for GE Aviation. Antroine joined GE Aviation in 2006 as part of the Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP). After program, he led various component production lines in Batesville Composites Operation as Operations Leader. Antroine then transitioned to the Cincinnati area, where he provided strategic forecasting leadership for the CFM product lines as the Commercial Spares Forecasting Leader. His next role was the Business Leader in Evendale Manufacturing Operation (EMO), leading across multiple production lines. Antroine has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from University of Mississippi. While attending Morehouse, he pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Antroine was born & raised in Memphis, TN. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, dancing, music, photography and traveling.
Hailing from Lorain, Ohio, Dr. Nicole Ausmer (affectionately known as Dr. Aus) has more than 12 years of experience in student development, leadership education, and high ROI programming. She is a three-time alumna of the University of Cincinnati with degrees in Psychology and Education. Nicole currently serves as the Director of Student Activities & Leadership Development, and she is an adjunct in the Organizational Leadership Department. Nicole works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to create dynamic student experiences that serve as the cornerstone for engagement. She recently chaired the University of Cincinnati Black Feminist Symposium that had record attendance and created a space for Black women to celebrate each other, share their research, and work on healing.
Dr. Ausmer has a record of creating space for women to tell their stories. She is the CEO of Mommin' Ain't Easy Cincy: The Stage Show, which allowed women to take the stage and share their stories of love, laughter, trials, and tribulations when it comes to motherhood. The success of her stage show inspired Nicole to pursue her current project and explore her childhood wounds. In the fall of 2019, she became an alum of TedX Cincinnati and delivered her talk on the effects of parental incarceration on children.
Nicole currently resides in Northside with her husband Lionell Ausmer Jr. and their two children Avery and Jackson. She continues to serve her community through mentorship, her church, and sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha.
